A newly formed business forum for the Uitenhage and Despatch areas has been brought to life!
The Uitenhage Despatch (UD) Business Forum aims to restore the towns of Uitenhage and Despatch to their former glory.
According to Chairperson of the UD Business Forum, Lynette Volschenk, the objective of the forum is to rejuvenate the areas of Uitenhage and Despatch within the metropole into becoming a vibrant town to live, work and play.
"The purpose of the forum is to stimulate and promote business development and growth. The UD business forum has identified as its priority a number of key projects to kick-start the process. These will be the first of many projects that will be implemented over time.
"The forum has recognised that the basics must be in place first for it to achieve its overall long-term goals. To this end, the priority projects are the cleaning up of the Uitenhage Despatch area and surrounds, as well as promoting excellent service delivery," said Volschenk.
The forum consists of the Uitenhage Despatch Development Initiative (UDDI) and various members of the local business community.
Nomkhita Mona, CEO of the UDDI said "the UDDI has committed to be part of this dynamic team championing development within Uitenhage and Despatch.
"The local business owners and the general public are encouraged to support the forum, and to participate in the implementation of projects for 2010."
The UD Business Forum invites all interested parties to join forces and kick start the Uitenhage/Despatch public operation clean-up and pride campaign.
