For the first time in many years the peaks of the Great Winterhoek mountains, north of Uitenhage, were covered in snow. Seeing Cockscomb with a white cap during winter time is a familiar sight, but snow covered mountains so close to Uitenhage is a rare picture. This photo was taken last Thursday from High Street in Uitenhage, showing the snow on the mountain peaks approximately 15 km from town.
